TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT GRIP

Even if your club shaft is made of the world's lightest carbon fiber and the head is high-tech, without a proper grip, you won't get the full performance out of your club. A quality grip ensures that the club stays firmly in your hands even in the most intense game situations. So, what should you consider when choosing a grip?

Grip selection is a matter of personal preference, but different styles serve different needs:

Tacky Grips: Designed for players who demand maximum grip. These grips feel almost sticky and are particularly popular among attackers. (e.g., Fat Pipe Sticky or Oxdog Supertech).

Moisture-Absorbing Grips: If your hands sweat a lot, choose a grip designed to maintain its hold when wet. These often have a perforated surface or a special material blend. (e.g., Fat Pipe Wetter the Better).

Thin Grips: The choice for weight fanatics. A thin grip provides a direct feel for the shaft and keeps the overall weight of the stick as low as possible.

Soft & Thick Grips: Offer more comfort and cushioning. Suitable for players who prefer a bulkier grip or suffer from stress caused by vibration.

Grips are consumable items. With use, the surface of the grip tape wears down, its pores become clogged with dirt, and sweat salts reduce the material's friction.

Improved Grip: A fresh grip "glues" the stick to your hand, allowing you to relax your grip and improve stickhandling.

Dampening: A new grip dampens impacts on the shaft better, which protects wrists and elbows.

Accuracy: When the stick doesn't slip during a shot, your shots will go more accurately exactly where you aim.

Properly remove the old grip: Clean the shaft of old glue residue before wrapping a new grip to ensure a smooth finish.

Tension is key: Pull the grip slightly tight during wrapping to avoid air bubbles or wrinkles.

Upper hand padding: You can leave a little more overlap for the upper hand if you want a thicker knob at the end of the club.

Color vs. Grip: White grips are often the grippiest due to their pure material composition, but they darken faster than black or colored alternatives.
